- Coat Beef cubes/strips with corn starch
- Chop onions and broccoli
- Boil broccoli on the side
- Cook onions with beef to liking (typically medium rare) with a little bit of oil/pam
- Rest beef on the side, rest broccoli on the side
- In a pan, make sauce by heating oil/pam with 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and ½ teaspoon of ginger (adjust to your liking)
- Before ginger garlic scorches, add ½ cup light soy sauce and ½ cup water
- Dissolve ¼ cup brown sugar or white sugar (or as much sugar to your liking, original recipe says ¾ cup)
- Increase heat to boil mixture and keep stirring for 3-4 minutes
- Add a bit of corn starch to thicken the mixture
- Toss in beef, onions, and broccoli until coated
- Serve over steamed rice
